We’ll learn together about how maps are made and used, talk about ways they’re complicated and interesting, and make your own map of an imagined place.
Topics we’ll explore include: What makes a map, a map, and what are some different kinds? What is the Mercator Projection, and in what ways do maps have power and influence? What tools do professional mapmakers use? And more.
We’ll use a map to find our way to a destination, and talk about what we think a good map includes. Then, we’ll each make a map of an imagined place.
