Emeryville 4-H Community Service: backpacks for the unhoused, book drive and more

Each year, our club strives to make an impact on our community with a club-wide community service project.

One year, we made backpacks for the unhoused, filled with supplies and necessities, that members distributed to those in need.

Most recently, we organized a book drive. Our club collected over 900 books for elementary and middle schoolers and donated them to Garfield Elementary School in Oakland (who no longer has a library) and the East Bay Children’s Book Project.

In addition, each year we make holiday cards and Valentine’s Day cards for the Meals on Wheels program at the Emeryville Senior Center.
